Job Description

Salary: $70,000 - 90,000 per year Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, or a comparable mix of education and experience
  • Epic certification in one or more Epic applications, to be obtained within 180 days of hire
  • Strong analytical, communication, and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to interpret business needs and understand their effect on technical solutions
  • Capacity to operate in a complex environment while managing multiple concurrent communication demands
  • Skill in tracking tasks, defining next steps, identifying owners, and holding others accountable
  • Ability to coordinate activities and facilitate meetings with multiple stakeholders, including vendors, subject matter experts, interface engine developers, and end users
  • Experience with EHR configuration and build
  • 0-2 years of experience in the analysis, design, build, testing, and maintenance of Epic EMR or other EMR applications
  • Foundational understanding of healthcare workflows related to electronic medical record systems
  • Knowledge of system development methodology and project management principles
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Technical understanding of clinical systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff
  • Ability to set priorities and manage time efficiently
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary support contact for end users of the application
  • Identify and help resolve issues within the application area and across other application teams
  • Guide workflow design, build and testing, and analyze technical issues related to Epic software
  • Implement requested system changes
  • Act as a liaison between end-user workflow needs and Epic implementation staff
  • Maintain regular communication with Epic representatives, including participation in weekly project team meetings
  • Work with Epic representatives, the business community, and end users to ensure the system meets business needs, deliverables, and timelines
  • Develop an understanding of operational needs by attending site visits and integrated sessions
  • Participate in training and support end users
  • Troubleshoot problems and answer questions
  • Review project and issue status regularly with leadership
  • Perform system analysis, design, integration, testing, implementation, maintenance, and planning for assigned applications and projects
  • Provide automation support to department managers and staff in line with strategic and operational goals
  • Plan, coordinate, develop, and deliver training for managers and users
  • Create training materials, continuity workbooks, standard operating procedures, and user checklists
  • Assist with upgrades and updates, NOVA note build, testing, and demos of new functionality
  • Participate in department and hospital task forces, focus groups, and committees as assigned
  • Work off-hours and take part in the on-call rotation
  • Perform other related and miscellaneous duties as assigned

You will work under minimal supervision with multidisciplinary team members to help deliver exceptional care for our patients. The position supports application functionality, system improvements, training, documentation, upgrades, testing, and user support while serving as a liaison with the user community and vendor. We also offer the opportunity to contribute to departmental and hospital task forces, focus groups, and committees in support of our mission, vision, and values.
